"Our Sufficiency is of God"

Beloved,

It has been quite some time since I posted a blog in spite of many thoughts, ideas, inspirations and songs that have been running through my mind.  I thank God for this opportunity and pray that whenever you are able to access it, it will remain fresh and true in Jesus' name.

The months of March - June 2010 have been a period of God stretching my faith, brightening my hope and strengthening my love for Him and the Body of Christ that He envisions. With my mother ceasing from labour on this side of eternity and called up to glory on Monday March 15th (just a few days to her 74th birthday), I have had to stop and take stock of what is really important to me in life.  By human standards, my brothers and I are now 'technical orphans'.  But before the thought of pity settles down in your mind, we are now 'God's own' - When my father or mother forsakes me (by death or neglect), then the Lord will pick me up!  Have you read that in His word?  He is faithful!

We thank God for answers to prayers.  We appreciate everyone that God used to minister comfort and provision to us.  May God reward your faithfulness in Jesus' name. Amen.

In 2 Corinthians 3: 5, Paul was appraising His spiritual standing and his right to serve and lead the body of Christ.  He concluded that he was not suffient of himself but 'his sufficiency is of God' The All Sufficient One.
I pray that you will find your root of sufficiency in God for all things and at all times in Jesus' name.

Psalm 1 - sets the scene as David typifies the life of a man who sits, stands and walk (daily living) NOT in the counsel of the ungodly or in the company of scornful like a tree 'planted by the river'.  Jesus Christ is the life giving River!  As the world continues to go through a period of shaking, be 'planted to flourish' in God.

Here are some of the things that have been written, announced or anticipated for the future:

a) Public spending in the UK will be cut by £30b annually for the next 7 years (2010 - 2016) - the cut is enough for some nations to live on.

b) NASA has warned of a possible SOLAR STORM in 2013 - check the Internet and read up on this.

c) 58% of white evangelicals in the US believe that Jesus will return before 2050.

d) In Massachusetts (USA) 1st Graders (children age 5 - 7) are allowed to have condom without parental consent.

e) In the US, it is reported that nearly $1B tax Dollar funds abortion.

Beloved, my take on it is that 'LEAN times must NOT be MEAN times.  As God forces humanity to redefine the image of PROSPERITY:

a)  we must be fervent in spirit serving the Lord  - our obedience must be prompt not delayed.
b) we must challenge one another to live right
c) we must refuse to be 'conditioned' by ungodliness and fear
d) Prosperity will give way to PRIORITIES - may God help us to make the right decisions in Jesus name.

Daily declare "Our sufficiency is of God" and "our Dependency is on Him".

He holds the whole world in His hands and beneath are the everlasting arms.

Scriptures for meditations - Haggai 2:6-9, 1 Chronicles 22:11-13, Proverbs 13: 18 -20

God bless

  1. That shaking will be followed by this result, or produce this effect, that all the valuable possessions of the heathen will come to fill the temple with glory.” Isaiah comforted his people saying,

Behold, the Lord God will come with might,
With His arm ruling for Him.

God is never short on supply for His people and His eternal purposes. God is not dependent upon men to supply His needs. Everything belongs to Him.

“The wealth of all nations,” or “desire of the nations” is a designation for the Messiah.

You can translate it “desire,” or “consolation.” The Gentile nations will come to the desire of all nations, the Messiah.

He is “the object of desire” meaning that in which a man finds pleasure, joy and value.

Behold, His reward is with Him
    And His recompense before Him.
Like a shepherd He will tend His flock,
In His arm He will gather the lambs
    And carry them in His bosom;
He will gently lead the nursing ewes.
